Red Hills Wrap Up

PHEW. Our last trip to Florida was pretty successful, but it's SO good to be home.

Donald ran the Advanced and Hewie ran the Prelim at the "new" Red Hills down in Tallahassee. Our Dressage was.. well.. we got work to do. We're still trying to knock off the winter woolies.

The cross country was beautiful as always and they really tried to open up the course for galloping. Hewie went early in the morning and jumped fabulously. This was the first time I've run him that he didn't feel green on course. Everyone at Bucks was impressed with him while he was there for 2 weeks, I have high hopes for this one! He jumped clean with some time. Donald went out later on in the day and we struggled to find a rythm from the beginning. Add to that a pulled shoe at fence 4... not shaping up to be a good day. He jumped everything I presented him to but we weren't jumping like our strong selves that day. I decided to pull him up after the double corners, make the work better at home and go out again at The Fork.

Hewie showjumped on Sunday. I LOVE the showjumping at this event - the jumps are gorgeous, the grass arena is spectacular, and the course was so fun. Buck has Hewie jumping better than ever. I'm so excited about this one.

I'm BACK in Maryland now teaching, riding, getting horses and students legged up for Morven and the April events. Starting to get busy, it's about time! Spring is here!
